In other Random News...

...Sadie loves to unload toys from baskets to the floor......At times, very intensely--after all, this is serious business.
...Sadie likes to sit here and wave and give high-fives. Waving consists of one, and on occasion, two, slowly flailing arms,-- coupled with a semi-bewildered but focused look--as seen here.

...I have a sweet husband. (He admitted that the balloon was really more for Sadie's fascination)

...Our goldfish died, and was replaced with a blue whale. It's less painful this way.

Our Afternoon in Chinatown

The weekend before last, the weather was wonderful, and we drove to San Fransisco and spent the afternoon exploring Chinatown. The Chinatown in SF is the largest in the country, and it's a very buzzing place--full of food and clothes markets and little "Dim Sum" restaurants. According to Wikipedia, "Dim Sum is a type of Chinese dish that involves individual portions of food, usually served in a small steamer basket or plate". (We had to look this up, because all the restaurants said, "DimSum", and we had no idea what that meant!)Here's the Dim Sum buffet where we ate lunch. The sign doesn't look it, but this was a VERY authentic little place. In other words, we didn't recognize most of the food that we ate. And after walking through the markets afterwards, and seeing all the grubs and dead, dehydrated water creatures, we felt that it was better that we just didn't know...!Sadie thinks that she is up for trying chopsticks.

Danny looks a little skeptical...I think he prefers Panda Express.

I think it's fun to try weird food as long as I am not sick for hours afterwards!

Here's Sadie and I in the food market. We stick out just a little. Everyone loved her light curls and blue eyes!

Trying on hats..

This is the park where Joe DiMaggio played. The sign in the distace on the fence says something to that effect. Danny was looking for this as we walked, because he's reading a biography about him, and reading about this very spot!

I was singing to her, and she was snuggling into my face. :)

Great day...Adventures with my Danny and SadieBug are the best..!

Recent Adventures 1 -- Las Trapas and Devil's Hole..

Sadie was super excited for our adventure in the wilderness!Sunhat. Check. Sunscreen. Check. Cutie pie. CHeck.
Having a deep, animated conversation with Froggy on the way up the hill.. He came to keep her company in her pack.

Part way up and already some great views of the surrounding San Ramon Valley/Bollinger Canyon.

Still chattin with Froggy

This is from the top--you may not be able to see from this picture, but we could see all the way to San Fran and the Golden Gate Bridge!

Little Legs...

Getting tired and sweaty, but still cute.

Drinking some water with Mommy. This was right before we took an unfortunate detour down into Devil's Hole. Added another extremely steep 2 miles onto our already 5 mile hike!

Danny and I :)

Great hike-- so good, we felt it the next day!

Goldie

This post is for Grancy (Grandma-Yancy), who sent Sadie her first dog...Her name is Goldie and she is the only breed allowed in our townhouse! She arrived late Monday night, and was so excited to meet Sadie that she jumped in her crib first thing Tuesday morning... Sadie, as you can see, was excited to meet Goldie too. Here is her initial reaction (since you missed seeing it yourself, Grancy...)After a diaper change and a quick breakfast, Sadie and Goldie played on the floor together...

They like to wrestle...

And then they had a real heart-to-heart talk..

Then Sadie's kitten was feeling left out, so she introduced her to Goldie..

And now they are all pals!

Thanks, Jan! :) Sadie, Goldie, Danny and I are excited for your visit! (Kitty is indifferent, but you know how cats can be...)

A Couple Cute Pictures for the Grandmas...!

I was going to take Sadie for a jog this afternoon, but it's windy and rainy...Part of our fence and our gate to our backyard actually blew over today! It wasn't on very well to start with, but still--brings back Corbett memories...So Sadie and I are playing instead, and have plans to bake some bread for the week since I have neglected to do so, and Danny and I have been eating sandwiches out of english muffins...
Here are a couple cute ones for the Grandmas! She's getting so big! She can sit pretty well now--I always sit around her, becausee she eventually tips over, but she does so well now! She also scooches around in her crib somehow...when I get her after her naps, she's usually never in the same position that she started in! :) Usually she rotates about 90 degrees...

Pink Sunglasses...

It can get pretty sunny here--even in February, so we just got Sadie her first sunglasses...they are still a little big for her and tend to slip down her little nose, but still--really cute. Going for a run with mom and dad--and not sure what to think of her eyewear..

You have to watch this video...

This is wonderful--and will probably make you cry. I hope our country can turn to the Lord as well--hope it won't take something so terrible. Hopefully even videos like this can wake up Christians in the USA who forget how awesome God is, and how powerful and real our Christian faith should be..
